Injectables For Men

Conveniently located to serve the areas of Los Gatos, Mountain View, Palo Alto and San Jose, CA

Cosmetic injections are simple procedures to enhance a man’s masculine facial features while keeping his complexion natural-looking, clear, and wrinkle-free. While cosmetic injections have long been marketed to treat feminine contours and complexions, a growing number of men have turned to these simple solutions to reverse common signs of aging. But, with a wide range of options, it might feel confusing when it comes to choosing the injectable that’s best for you.

Dr. Patrick Bitter has a curated collection of cosmetic injections designed to treat wrinkles, fine lines, and volume loss. If you would like to find the best injectable that’s right for you, schedule a personal consultation at our Los Gatos offices. Here, we’ll use your desired aesthetic results as a template for your personalized treatment plan. To reach our front desk directly, please call (408) 358-5757.

Increased Interest in Masculine Aesthetics

In the past, the cosmetics industry has been focused on accentuating feminine features, marketing products exclusively to help women look and feel their best. But recently, more men are undergoing cosmetic procedures, so the cosmetics industry has taken notice. After all, the number of cosmetic procedures performed on men was up 273% between 1997 and 2015.[1] To treat these gendered differences, Dr. Bitter uses the same services but modifies his approach to better contour a man’s cheekbones, jawline, and overall masculine appearance.

Why Choose Injectables

Other cosmetic solutions include extensive preparations, long procedures, and involved downtimes. Injectables are simple, fast, and effective solutions to combat common side effects of aging. The three main benefits of cosmetic injections are:

Non-Surgical Treatments

Other skin rejuvenating procedures include factors like specific preparations, risky anesthesia, and arduous recoveries. An injectable session is conversely simpler, quicker, and less restrictive when it comes to downtime. First, we have you sit comfortably in a private treatment room. Then, we administer the selected injection into the desired area. If it is a dermal filler, we massage the area over the skin, making sure the filler is evenly distributed around the area.

Customizable Sessions

Also, we can use different fillers and injections during a single session. So, you can see wrinkles disappear and features become better defined all in one visit to our Los Gatos offices. During your consultation, we will configure a personalized treatment plan designed to address each one of your cosmetic concerns. Because each injectable has a different mechanism of action, they treat different conditions. Other cosmetic procedures don’t give you the same freedom to customize as injectables do.

Long-Lasting Results

Because each filler uses different active ingredients, they have different timetables for results. The injectables Dr. Bitter utilizes incorporate naturally occurring ingredients that gradually absorb into the treated tissue. But, they each do so over a different amount of time. Some produce results almost instantly and last for a year to two years, while others produce results that gradually improve over time. These latter injectables are ideal for those who want subtler results

Bitter’s Collection of Injectables

Each one of Dr. Bitter’s chosen injectables has a unique abilities that can be tailored to your aesthetic concerns. These products are skin-safe and non-permanent, but offer different benefits such as the immediacy of results and how long they last. We’ll go over your personal goals regarding these during your consultation. Dr. Patrick Bitter’s collection of injectables includes:

Botox & Dysport

Botox and Dysport both utilize botulinum toxin to minimize wrinkles and alleviate minor fine lines around your face. Botulinum toxin is a skin-safe neuromodulator that interrupts and freezes chemical communication between muscles and the body’s central nervous system. When used for facial rejuvenation, Botox and Dysport are injected into the facial muscles and not the dermal tissue. Once inside the muscle, the neuromodulator relaxes the muscle in place, which smooths out the overlying wrinkles. These two injectables are ideal for alleviating existing wrinkles and keeping future wrinkles from occurring.[2]

Kybella

Kybella is the only injectable that doesn’t treat wrinkles and fine lines but rather safely sculpts away the appearance of a double chin. The active ingredient in Kybella is a naturally occurring acid in the body that breaks down fatty tissue. This chemical reaction turns fat cells into amino acids. Once this happens, the body sends a wave of white blood cells to the under-chin area to stimulate collagen production.[3] This fresh influx of collagen tightens the affected skin, resulting in a slimmer tighter jawline – the crucial component of a masculine appearance.

Juvederm

Juvederm is considered a dermal filler because, unlike Botox and Dysport, it is injected directly into the skin. This shallow injection site allows the Juvederm solution to absorb water molecules and smooth away wrinkles from the inside out. Juvederm uses hyaluronic acid, a molecule organic to your skin. Your skin produces this hygroscopic molecule to keep your dermal cells and soft tissue structures healthy and hydrated. In fact, half of your body’s hyaluronic acid supply is in your skin.[4] Juvederm comes in a variety of formulations that range in viscosities. Depending on the formula, they can smooth light wrinkles to deep creases, while others build volume in features like your chin, lips, or cheekbones.

Restylane

Like Juvederm, Restylane uses hyaluronic acid as its active ingredient. Unlike Juvederm, however, Restylane gel has a coarser texture, making it more ideal for certain areas of your complexion. Notably, Restylane is remarkable at adding defining yet flexible volume for natural-looking results. Also, a trace amount of lidocaine is in every Restylane product to assuage pain and keep you comfortably relaxed during your cosmetic procedure.

Sculptra

Like Juvederm and Restylane, Sculptra is a dermal filler that adds volume to areas requiring additional volume. But, Sculptra uses poly-L-lactic acid, an organic molecule that absorbs into the soft tissue over time, inciting collage production. These new collagen fibers repair and restore areas of volume loss gradually.[5] So, you can see results continually appear for the next couple of weeks and months.

Candidates

If you would like to see these positive results for yourself, the first step is to schedule a personal consultation. Then, we will decide if you are an ideal candidate for cosmetic injections. Because we all age differently or want an aesthetic boost at different times in our lives, injectables can treat men of all ages. Also, because they’re nonsurgical procedures, injectables don’t require the same involved preparations or health stipulations as cosmetic surgeries. These treatments are quick, simple, and perfect for the Every Man.

Personal Consultation

If this is your first time with us, our team of aestheticians will walk you through a patient intake interview and a physical examination. We’ll note your current cosmetic condition and determine which injectable may be right for you, based on your desired results. We will form a personalized treatment plan to address each one of your cosmetic concerns. Since injectables are fast, easy, and virtually painless, we can perform multiple treatments during one session. After your treatment, we will give you proper after-care instructions. But before your injectable procedure, we ask that you discontinue taking any blood-thinning medications like Advil, ibuprofen, and fish oils, so that you have the best possible experience.

Other Aesthetic Services For Men

Other common signs of aging for men include hair loss. With age, men’s body systems don’t have the facilities to maintain the same youthful appearance. When you consider the effects of aging, hair loss is often just as concerning as wrinkles and fine lines. To treat hair loss, Dr. Bitter uses a naturally derived supplement called Nutrafol. Nutrafol improves hair strength, density, texture, and shine. It is easily added to any daily vitamin regimen or health and wellness routine.
