Traditional laser treatments remove the entire surface of the treatment site, leading to more painful and longer recoveries.
ProFractional™ laser treatments only target narrow diameters of skin to stimulate the production of collagen deep in the tissues. Leaving the surrounding tissue intact allows for shorter healing times and customized results.

Refresh Your Overall Appearance
Skin discoloration can be expressed as dark brown spots, and these spots may be naturally occurring freckles or cell damage caused by sun exposure. In other cases, vascular problems or sun damage can cause the small blood vessels near the skin’s surface to dilate, causing redness. ProFractional laser treatments correct skin discolorations by destroying the dark pigment of the cells. The body then produces healthy skin cells to replace the damaged cells, restoring your natural, beautiful complexion.
Wrinkles and Fine Lines
Diminished collagen production is a key cause of fine lines and wrinkles.
As we age, our body naturally slows its collagen and elastin production, which results in weakened supporting tissues. ProFractional treatments cause minor damage to specific areas of the skin, stimulating the body’s healing response. A surge of collagen is produced that strengthens the supporting tissue and fills in fine line and wrinkles to restore smooth, youthful skin.
Scarring is caused by an overproduction or underproduction of collagen during the healing process. Most people have facial scarring due to severe acne breakouts, but scarring can also be the result of tissue trauma.
ProFractional lasers target the excess collagen cells of raised scars to break them down.
ProFractional treatment can also stimulate the production of collagen to improve pitted scars and help you achieve smoother, brighter skin.
The ProFractional Laser
A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to ensure optimal comfort during your procedure. ProFractional laser treatment uses energy that penetrates deep into your skin. The energy ablates the tissue, damaging it in specific channels and leaving surrounding areas of healthy tissue. The body’s natural healing process is stimulated, producing new collagen to plump and smooth the skin.
What areas of the body can be treated using the ProFractional laser?
Most areas of the skin can be treated using ProFractional™ lasers. Common treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, and hands. Discuss with Dr. Bitter if you desire ProFractional™ treatments on other areas of your body.
How long does the procedure take?
ProFractional™ treatments usually take between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being corrected.
What will the recovery period entail?
Immediately following the procedure, you will likely experience mild redness and a tingling sensation. Makeup can be applied within one to two days following treatment. You should be fully healed with noticeable results after three days.
How long will my results last?
The results of ProFractional™ treatments are not permanent. However, with repeat treatments, you can achieve longer-lasting results. A series of one to four treatments is recommended to achieve the best results possible.
How should I protect my skin following treatment?
You should avoid direct sun exposure and always apply sunscreen. Many patients find that for comfort, using mild skin care products helps to keep the skin clean and promote proper healing. Staying hydrated also promotes healthy skin.
